It's associated with the Pineal gland and has everything to do with your perception and states of consciousness. The Third Eye Chakra helps us with seeing and perceiving, not only in a physical sense but in a spiritual sense as well. When opened, we see visions like clips of a movie in your minds eye. We are able to see past illusions and distractions with not only clarity, but deep understanding.

My grandmother died of Breast Cancer before I was born. I never got to meet her but the people of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico will tell you stories that she had a warrior spirit and gracious heart. From a very young age, I had attended numerous Breast Cancer rallies and hosted fundraisers to bring awareness to this cause. Galleria Alexxis is proud to support the Dr. Susan Love Foundation on their quest to find a cure! Some exciting things have been happening here at Galleria Alexxis, one of which is our collaboration with Awakened Auras Co., located here in Kissimmee, FL! I had the honor of meeting the owner who has a deep appreciation for all things shiny, spiritual, and high quality. She loved my custom malas which is featured in her store and we even designed this custom Auralite set! Let me spill the tea. 

So I have to confess my extreme excitement for this Mala necklace. How I came across the Mala might be similar to how other people came across it. I was shopping in the mall and thought hey, this would go perfectly with this outfit, completely unaware of the spiritual significance. You see, there are 108 beads in total. Why you ask, because the number 108 is a very sacred number not only for the Buddhists but also in Hinduism and Yogic tradition. There are many theories as to why this number is auspicious and it's up to you to decipher what you choose to believe but that's neither here nor there.

 I take personal hygiene very serious. I disinfect my home numerous times through the day to prevent the spread of germs. We all want the person preparing our food to be clean don't we? With the rise of the current Pandemic food is not the only thing we as consumers want to be cleaned. This involves jewelry and other goods. I know the clean freak in me wants my jewelry to be germ-free which is why I go to great lengths to clean every gemstone before it finds its way to your hands. Another measure I take to ensure that I am keeping your specific piece germ-free is making them at the time of purchase. Like I stated in previous blogs and videos I don't have an arsenal of pre-made pieces sitting around collecting dust. Once you place your order you can rest assured that I will clean your stones in a saltwater bath and finish them off with either a Palo Santo or Sage smudging to tie it all together. It is then packaged with extreme care and sent to you.

I get asked a lot how did I get into this holistic/spirituality mumbo jumbo. It's hard to pinpoint. The easy answer is it's in my DNA. I am Taino Indian and Afrolatina. I am a melting pot of Native Indigenous blood, lineage from Portugual/Spain and Africa! 

When I view my jewelry making, I view it as a muse. There are no strict rules when making art. Everything goes. There are no mistakes. I am an unconventional type. I try not to stress about imperfections and find the beauty in everything. 

I had always been one to stand out. My business is no different. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to be transparent with my customers and only deliver authentic, quality products at a great value. I am fully aware that this is not for everyone and that is okay. I believe that my jewelry will resonate with the perfect person. My main priority is to deliver jewelry that makes my customers not only look good, but feel good physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I did not get into this business as a get rich scheme. My motivation is to spread peace, love and positivity into this world one person at a time. Capitalization is a bonus. There are so many motivating reasons behind why I make jewelry. The first is its ties to my native Taino Indian roots. Native Indigenous people are the original jewelry designers with their beaded jewelry and ingenious forms of fashion. I take a lot of pride in my roots and heritage and this is the perfect way to honor and pay homage to my ancestors. My great-grandmother actually beaded her own jewelry until her final days. This was something I did not notice until she recently passed away. I have her beaded jewelry hanging on the rearview mirror of my car, and all around my house. This is my way of keeping her legacy and spirit for many more generations to come. 

On top of the familial ties and cultural background, I am also a spiritual person. I believe that the Earth has natural ways of emitting energy. We have all learned in school that we are made of atoms and everything around us is made of atoms and energy. To deny that is to ignorantly deny science and facts. There is energy in humans, plants, animals, and even stones.  My mission is to promote peace, love and prosperity so what better way than to combine my passion for fashion and gemstones and combine the two? That is how and why Galleria Alexxis was created!
